Rse, in Milan experimental area for studies on electric charging
Ribbon-cutting ceremony in Milan for the RSE (Energy System Research) experimental area for charging electric vehicles with a centralized system. With the conversion of company fleets to electricity and a dedicated area with 24 stations built by different manufacturers, in addition to offering a recharging service to employees, the infrastructure will allow RSE to analyze the main opportunities and critical issues, as well as to develop and field testing innovative management solutions. These activities, which will continue until the end of 2022, are part of the Research Projects funded by the National Electricity System Research Fund on electricity grids, distributed generation and electric vehicles.
The aim of the project, carried out with the support of Cesi, is to demonstrate the feasibility and overall convenience for a company to electrify the car fleet and evaluate the complementarity of corporate charging with private and public charging. The project aims to weigh the real systemic potential deriving from the aggregation of charging processes for corporate fleets managed with innovative algorithms. In addition to the reduction of environmental impacts, a reduction in fleet management costs is estimated due to reduced fuel costs between 1,000 and 4,000 euros per year, with the possibility of smart management via webapp and the sharing of infrastructure services. with employees. The 24 new charging points up to 22 kW in Milan, added to the 3 installed in Piacenza and the domestic charging systems at selected employees up to 7 kW, were produced by five different industrial partners to verify interoperability with the optimization system and the use of standards.
