Motor Valley responds adequately to the crisis: record sales in 2020. Positive trend also for 2021.

The Emilia-Romagna automotive industrial district, that counts over 16.000 companies and 70.000 workers, shows positive results for 2020. Car manufacturers have played a very important role in the reaction to the crisis caused by the Covid-19 emergency. Indeed, in 2020 Lamborghini reaches the highest profitability rate ever achieved, with a commercial record of 7,430 cars delivered worldwide. Horacio Pagani also achieved a sales value of 114 million, largely exceeding the 88 million recorded in 2019. Even Ferrari showed a recovery in the last quarter of 2020, with + 13% of deliveries and + 15% of revenues compared to the same period of the previous year. The Motor Valley therefore responded adequately to the halt imposed by the advance of the pandemic.
"The great value and strength of the Emilian Motor Valley over the last year has been the ability to respond to the crisis in a fast, determined, flexible and resilient way. These 4 pillars have allowed many companies to react by changing their business model both in terms of international localization and the mix of products and services. These answers were necessary to keep this industrial, productive and also touristic sector standing even in moments of extreme complexity. "
Says Vittorio Brambilla, director of the Motor Valley Development association.
"At the limits and downturns generated by the COVID-19 effect, many companies in the Motor Valley have therefore managed to find winning answers and strategies."
The hope is that the positive reflection of the winning companies will extend to all the players in the sector and will continue over time. A confirmation for the positive outlook on the numbers of 2021, which leading companies such as Lamborghini or Ferrari have already confirmed for their future estimates.
